Many are rediscovering that voice is still the swiftest, most intuitive, direct and efficient method of communication at our disposal; after all, the world’s languages have evolved over millennia, which makes voice communication with all the subtleties of direct interaction the richest media we have. No instant messaging (IM) is faster than human speech, and voice conversations forge stronger links between people with less potential for misunderstanding.

GSM1 Communications Ltd was launched in December 2008 to act as a licensing vehicle for a number of ground breaking mobile technologies.

GSM1 will also commercially release products & services based on these ground breaking technologies directly to major international corporates. This will for the first time provide international businesses a true ubiquitous global communication service based on the GSM mobile.

GSM1 has reinvented MVNO and have launched a true alternative with international power and scope. These Virtual Mobile Service Providers. For further info see VMSP & VMSE

We are now ready to start launching our VMSE & VMSP programs in Europe, so I am taking this opportunity to share with you some further information on the licensing options that maybe of interest to you or your partners in the Romanian Market.

This project is led by GSM1 Communications Ltd the first VMSE (Unify VMSP Ltd’s JV partner) who will be rolling out the licensing program globally in the fourth quarter 2010.

The Unify MNO Platform is a new kind of GSM Global Operator that has brought together the following key unique elements:

1.       A new type of  intelligent HLR for managing a global SIM product with multiple identities

2.       Several International Patented SIM & IMSI management technologies

3.       A unified Billing Platform

4.       Low cost miniature handsets

5.       A new business model called VMSE/VMSP

 All of this will enable us to empower Virtual Mobile Service Enablers (VMSE) to create a new kind of MVNO called a VMSP (Virtual Mobile Service Provider) This is a much lower cost and infinitely more powerful program than any conventional MNO-MVNO-License can offer. This includes the following key elements;

A truly unique multiple IMSI product for the lucrative international roaming market

The ability to add local profiles to be competitive in the local markets

Technologies that can remove MTS(mobile termination surcharges) whilst roaming.  MTS is such as you receive in Canada, India, Mexico, USA and None EU visitors to the European markets.

Business model to pull in smaller MNO’s around the globe to become extensions to this super GSM platform

Resulting Unified Global Services with ONE RATE, ONE FEEL, ONE BILL something that has eluded even the likes of Vodafone & Telefonica

Ability to support Global Mobile Banking Solutions and innovative devices such as Global GPS/GSM tracking ( www.GSMTrace.com )

Our business model unlike existing operators, is not to sell ourselves, but to exclusively market through VMSPs. We appoint strategic VMSEs to participate with us in enabling hundreds of VMSPs in key cities to roll out services in a strictly level playing field, controlled in the license. Beneath the VMSP level is a dedicated Dealer Program which is far faster and cuts out the antiquated old distribution models. This allows ordinary people and SMEs the ability to enter the mobile operator business with none mobile backgrounds. This can easily surpass the growth of IP products like Skype which has grown to over 560 million users in just six years.  VMSPs have the same mass market opportunity but a much greater ARPU as it launches on a mobile platform not the internet so has never needed to be a free product. We have left in one ‘Free Element’ as it is our belief that it should always be free to receive wherever you make mobile calls. We have so far enabled ‘free to receive’ in 60+ countries and will probably pass the 100 mark by early 2011.

The cost of the VMSE License is 250K British Pounds. The cost of each VMSP License is 25K British Pounds. The cost of a Master Dealer License is 2.5K GBP and there are smaller Dealer & Micro-Dealer licenses  within the dealer program. As we revenue share with the VMSE on each VMSP license to the tune of 10K per new License, there is an opportunity to gain ROI from License fees alone. Projected ARPUs are over 30Euros (Skype is under 1$) so this represents a very lucrative opportunity on all levels. The VMSP license gives the right to own brand and there are no geographic restrictions on where each VMSP can sell. To protect the investment of each local VMSE & their associated VMSPs we prohibit the ‘First Sale’ to each new subscriber to be over the internet. The first sale must be ‘Face to face’ which protects the interests of all those investing in the respective licenses and who have invested in local support facilities to take care for their hard earned customers. Of courses Airtime top-ups and repeat services and products can be online. This is the kind of protection the European Channel and Resellers have been requesting for years. There is also a route by which a ‘Micro Dealer’ can earn his or her way up the ladder as it were, by sheer hard work and receive license-fee-free appointment to Dealer & Master Dealer levels by making certain key sales targets. This has been designed specifically to support the developing markets of Africa, Asia & South America where local people can build their own mobile empires under the VMSP model.

GSM1 is proud to announce the launch of GSMTrace GPS tracking technology. These revolutionary products work on up to 800 plus mobile networks in over one hundred countries and will be exclusively marketed through our VMSP partners. For further info please see WWW.VMSE.MOBI GSMTrace products can even provide two way communication with users and can track accurately to within a few metres in all GSM coverage areas.

In 1991 Mike (GSM1 & IP2 co-founder) had established a company in Sub-Saharan Africa working with CallBack technology. He had become passionate about the need for low cost business communication in developing countries. The whole African continent was crippled by expensive communication costs and although mobile phones were widely available, the cost of using them, particularly for international calls was prohibitively expensive. Mike saw the opportunity to create a new type of ‘CallBack’ technology called SMSCall which would utilize the new ‘text messaging’ functionality in GSM mobiles, to trigger calls that would bypass international mobile tariffs. Although the original conceiver, he later joined forces with a Canadian inventor who had secured 7 million USD to develop and patenting the SMSCall technology.

By 2004 there were some 25,000 users of the SMSCall service in Africa and in over 50 countries around the globe. Mike secured additional funding in Norway and created the UK companies SMSCall International & SMS Call Ltd. This led to a business partnership with the inventor and patent owner of ‘SCC’ (SIM Controlled Calling) He had patented this technology back in 1999 but due to great opposition from incumbent mobile operators, had yet been able to commercialize his invention. He had however secured some 22 million Euros of investment from BT & Alcatel in Holland, to build a fully operating SCC platform and had formed the first true MVNE called INMO which was a JV with BT. In 2007 they formed a joint venture company in Norway, called Unify Mobile (Norway). This company was given global exclusivity in November 2007. Mike Kellett presently serves as CEO  & Chairman and the inventor is a major shareholder and director. Following the formation of GSM1 in London, the ROAMOBI brand was licensed as the first VMSE with exclusivity in a number of key global markets.

In early 2010 a unparalleled agreement was completed with a UK Mobile Network Operator which granted for the first time full access to the MNOs Spectrum in the UK. This will allow GSM1 products & services to be competitive in the local UK market. The whole of the UK will thus become an extension of the Global GSM platform being established by GSM1s JV MNO partners. This will allow indoor/outdoor coverage to be installed to extend GSM1s offering in the UK market into University Campus, Hotels, Supermarkets, Corporate offices etc.

In late 2010 GSM1 completed an agreement with its strategic partner Unify VMSP Ltd and its sister MNO in Switzerland. Under this new JV, GSM1 will launch the new VMSE/VMSP licensing program in over 100 countries.

To enroll on this program or the associated Dealer Program please complete the pre-applications on the VMSE or VMSP webistes.

GSM1 has managed to establish a powerful position in the marketplace by virtue of not being burdened by debt on the various technologies it has integrated.                                 Through jointventures & exclusive global distribution rights for the products and the protection offered by the patents supporting the applications, GSM1 is totally independent and as such can market its services freely without the  fear that certain potential customers    are ‘off limits’ because investors or key partners regard these companies as competitors and do not wish to allow them access to our applications. GSM1 are also independent of handset manufacturers. Products are designed  to work right across the range of handsets and any handset with the required level of functionality will be able to run our applications. GSM1 further intends to be completely independent at all stages of the value chain and it is a key element of our strategy that we have diversity of supplier at all levels.  We will work both with independent mobile operators, such as the new Swiss operator hitherto mentioned and also with small medium  and large local, regional and global operators with the following products, which collectively form a global virtual network.
